Welcome to the daily WHL playoff recap focusing on the Western Conference. Here is a look back at the day that was:

Kamloops Blazers (5) vs Spokane Chiefs (1)

Kamloops continues their dominance over Spokane as they won 5-1 while taking a 3-0 series lead. It was much of the same as the Blazers top players put on a show while Dylan Garand shut the door. Huge shoutout needs to go to Spokane goaltender Cooper Michaluk who is playing fantastic and made 34 saves on 39 shots in Game 3.

It was the Logan Stankoven show once again as the Dallas Stars prospect scored once and added two assists. He currently leads the entire WHL in playoff points with 10 in his first three games. Other goal scores included Fraser Minten, Luke Toporowski, Daylan Kuefler and Quinn Schmiemann. Garand made 25 saves and has a .959% save percentage through his first three games.

The series now shifts to Spokane for Games 4,5 and 6. If Spokane want to avoid the sweep, the key is scoring on the power play. So far this playoffs, they are one for 19 while Kamloops is five for 19. Game 4 is set for Friday night.
