It was a great Game 3 in Edmonton. Dylan Guenther opened the scoring at 14:28. Jack Finley tied it at 1-1 with a power play goal. Kaiden Guhle gave the Oil Kings the 2-1 lead heading into the third.

Then the ICE do what they have done this entire series, score in the third period. They’ve now scored nine goals in the third period. This time, there was two. Connor McClennon scored at 9:00 to tie the game at 2-2. Then Zachary Benson gave the ICE the lead at 16:14, however, the Oil Kings were not done.

Jalen Luypen tied at 3-3 at 18:42 before 8:02 into overtime, Justin Sourdif channeled his inner Connor McDavid and blew through the ICE to score the overtime goal to give the Oil Kings the win.

While the ICE have been consistent in scoring in the third period, the Oil Kings have been consistent in badly outshooting their opponents at Rogers Place. This time it was 55-21. The Oil Kings are outshooting their opponents on an average of 44-23. Gage Alexander was outstanding for the ICE making 51 saves. Sebastian Cossa made 18 saves for the win for the Oil Kings.

Offensively for the Oil Kings, Sourdif had an assist with his overtime goal. Guhle had an assist with his goal. And Jake Neighbours chipped in with two assists. For the ICE, Benson had an assist with his goal. Same with Finley and McClennon.

Game Four will be Wednesday in Edmonton.
