The Prince George Cougars got a hat trick from Carter MacAdams and 44 saves from Tyler Brennan to end the Kelowna Rockets five game home winning streak 5-2.

In the first of three straight between the two teams, the Rockets were firing shots, but not getting goals. They outshot the Cougars 19-11. But Cayden Glover on the Cougars first shot on goal and they were up 1-0.

The second period was the MacAdams show. He scored on the power play at 3:59 and the eventual game winning goal at 10:52. Cougars led 3-0 after 2.

The Rockets opened the scoring in the third. John Babcock scored at 8:25 to make it 3-1, but MacAdams sealed it with his hat trick goal. Ethan Samson added his tenth of the year on the powerplay for the Cougars. Rockets forward Adam Kydd added a late goal with 36 seconds left to make the score 5-2.

The Rockets played the game with 11 forwards and seven defenceman as Colton Dach served the first of his two game suspension for a check to the head from the game Saturday against the Tri-City Americans. Jake Poole was out with appendicitis while Jari Kykkanen made 23 saves to take the loss for the Rockets.

With the win, the Cougars climb to 19-25-2-1 for 39 points. They are in sixth place in the Western Conference and third in the B.C. Division.

The Rockets fall to 26-12-1-3 for 56 points. They are fifth in the Western Conference and second in the B.C. Division. 

The Rockets head to the CN Centre Friday and Saturday for games against the Cougars. They head home for a Family Day afternoon game against the Tri-City Americans.

The WHL and the  Rockets also new dates for their six games that were postponed earlier this season.

The  WHL Regular Season will conclude Sunday, April 17. Should there be a tiebreaker game(s), they will be played Tuesday, April 19. Playoffs will begin Friday, April 22.

The WHL Championship is scheduled from Friday, June 3 and through Tuesday, June 14.  The Memorial Cup will be from Monday, June 20 to Wednesday, June 29 in Saint John N.B.
