The Kelowna Rockets have shut down activities and have had their games postponed this weekend.

On Wednesday, the WHL announced that both the Kelowna Rockets and Brandon Wheat Kings are shut down due to multiple cases of Covid 19 on both players and staff.

The pause has caused the Rockets games Friday in Everett and Saturday in Vancouver to have been postponed. The game in Everett has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 6. No date has been set for the Rockets and Giants.

The WHL also postponed the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Regina Pats game on Friday. The game was scheduled to be part of the CHL on TSN broadcast. No date has been scheduled for that game.

As per WHL protocols, any player or staff that have tested positive for Covid 19 are not permitted to resume team activities until they have returned a negative test. They are also not permitted to resume team activities or come into  close contact  with teammates or staff until a) they have returned a negative test or b) completed the required isolation period. All individuals are also required to complete a PCR test to confirm the rapid antigen positive result.

The Rockets next scheduled games are in Victoria Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday January 26.
